The Bodhinyana Group

Meetings take place every Wednesday evening at Amaravati Buddhist Monastery during school term time. The meetings are aimed at providing support for lay-Buddhists who  live reasonably close to Amaravati. The Amaravati community follow the Theravadin Forest Sangha tradition and the meetings are open to all people who wish to develop their understanding and practice of Buddhism.

The meetings are intended to provide friendship, support, and guidance. Meetings formally start at 7.30 usually with a short period of chanting followed by a period of meditation. This is then followed by an introductory talk from a member of the group and an open discussion on an aspect of practice. The participation of the whole group in discussion is warmly welcomed - but not obligatory. The meeting finishes with a short final chant at around 9.30.

Occasionally members of the Monastic Sangha will lead the meeting.
